Canned or bottled coffees which was first prompted by Starbucks has been trending. Starbucks started selling bottled frappuccinos around 2018 and other small and international coffee shops have caught on. One can find iced lattes, mocha, cold brews as RTDs in coffee shops and grocery stores. This allows consumers to enjoy their favorite drinks by major coffee brands.




2. Healthy Coffee And healthier Additives


the coffee industry has been seeing a trend in consumers choosing healthier drinks. Additives such as matcha, turmeric, ginger have been very popular. Further more, the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted consumer to opt for drinks that claim to improve their immune system and boost metabolism.




3. Flash Brew, Not Cold Brew


Iced coffee and cold brew coffee has been very popular but there is a new alternative for coffee lovers: Flash Brew. It is freshly brewed coffee and quickly chilled. It has been claimed that it is more flavorful than cold brew because of its extracting process and needless dilution of ice.



4. Instant Coffee of High Quality

convenient instant coffee was the most popular type of coffee which was consumed for the longest time. This marked the first wave of Coffee. Then, the second wave brought quality coffee by brands like Starbucks and Peet's. But now, a growing number of coffee companies are using the best coffee beans to make instant coffee again pioneered by Starbucks.


The Dalgona

One of 2020’s biggest trends was Dalgona coffee, made from whipped instant coffee, sugar and water to create a thick coffee foam. In 2021, Dalgona has become more complex due to access to better instant coffee.



5. Sustainable Coffee



Thanks to Millennial coffee drinkers, the coffee industry is evolving to make the entire supply chain greener. They are more well informed and demanding when it comes to the health of people and the planet. As a consequence, companies are choosing to develop long-term relationships with coffee plantation owner, who have socio-economic and environmental benefits.
